- Re:
ideas
Sue,
I am sorry. I reached the boiling point. Subject to Joarne S saying that it is legal, I think we should change the by-laws requiring a vote to remove items from the consent calendar and reducing public comment minutes to 3 as per all other entities. I have no problem taking separate votes on consent items they want to vote no on, but I am not willing to sit there and listen to them pontif icate, especially when they have not done their homework up front. Becky has a role to play in all of this since she does have some kind of relationship with John and Fran. I believe we would have been on solid legal ground last night in moving the remainder of the consent calendar last night and voting on them all in one motion--we do that for the entire consent calendar anyway. Perhaps Cheryl Ward can also work with Terry and Becky on a solution. I agree that we should not get into it, however, when they have an audience we know what happens. Good idea to put heads together. This mess has to stop. George Stevens is absolutely correct--it's an embarrassment.

Does anyone have any ideas re: how I
can keep more control of the meetings?
Should we, the other 3 of us, let them
say whatever they want and make no response
at all ever, just move to the next item?
I can also table all pulled consent
agenda items that have not been discussed
with staff, as we did tonight, when
there are no consequences for a delay,
according to staff. We can expect that
John will continue to use board meetings
to conduct his election campaign. Do
we let it happen with no response or
comment?

The only other idea I have is to shoot
the both of them. I was thinking of
a way to get them both with one bullet,
but now think they are each too heavy
for that to work.

I will seriously listen to any ideas.
